Sarajevo ~ Bosnia ~ 28th June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria is Shot...Austria declares war on Serbia in retaliation Serbia seeks help from Russia who begin a partial mobilisation ..Germany declares war on Russia ..France, Russia’s ally, declines to stand neutral.... Germany declares war on France and then invades Belgium, a neutral country ..Britain declares war on Germany.  And so by August 4th 1914 the Great War gets under way..!
